As an additional program to Eigasai 2026, we have prepared a unique dance workshop for those interested in traditional Japanese dance (nihon buyó) to the song Sakura-sakura led by Ms. Izumo Sho Cho, whose captivating dance art you could see at Eigasai 2024 and will see again at Eigasai 2026..

Information about the workshop:
When
: Sunday, February 15, 2026, 3:00 PM-6:30 PM (Meeting in front of the building: 14:30)
Where: Centrum Tance, Václavské náměstí 36, hall 1, Prague

Traditional Japanese dance (nihon buyó) is an integral part of the rich Japanese culture.
The workshop aims to help spread awareness of this captivating, albeit unfortunately less and less practiced, art by introducing participants to the basics of this performing art, introducing them to its history and aesthetics, and teaching them how to dance an entire dance so that they can then independently perform it for their loved ones!

In addition to mostly practical knowledge, each participant will also take home from the workshop a printed photo guide that describes the dance step by step, so they can repeat it at any time, and a QR code to download the accompanying song.

The workshop will take place with the financial support of the Harumi Fund.

Suitable for complete beginners and children from 15 years of age.
Even if you generally don’t see yourself as a good dancer, please don’t be discouraged, everyone can do this one! 🙂

Schedule:
