We are happy to announce that all types of tickets (including pre-paid discounted tickets for all movies) for the Eiga-sai 2012 Japanese film festival, held from 20th till 26th January in Prague's Lucerna cinema, are available for purchase beginning 3rd January.

The festival's substantially expanded 5th iteration has been labeled “Hommage à Kitano Takeshi”. Takeshi will celebrate his 65th birthday only 2 days before the festival's opening, therefore the director's work retrospect was chosen to serve as an axis for the event, beginning with his debut Sono otoko kyōbō ni tsuki (Violent Cop, 1989), up to his latest film Outrage (2010). A new addition to the program is a line of archive movies, featuring several legendary titles ranging from 50ths to 80ths, each with its own unique atmosphere, all of them establishing a wider context of the creative surge known today as the “Japanese New Vawe”.
